Mikal Bridges is a professional basketball player who plays for the New York Knicks in the NBA as of November 2024. He graduated from Villanova University, where he was a key member of the Wildcats' two-time NCAA championship teams. Bridges was selected as the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. However, bridges was quickly traded to the Phoenix Suns, where he played as a versatile two-way player. His defensive prowess earned him the nickname "The Warden" among NBA fans, and in the 2021-22 season, he was a runner-up for the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Bridges was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in the blockbuster "Kevin Durant trade" in February 2023. However, his stay in Brooklyn was short-lived, as he was once again traded, this time to the New York Knicks, where he has reunited with his former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. He averaged 19.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1 steal per game in the 2023-24 NBA season.
