Born on August 23, 1988, Jeremy Shu-How Lin is a professional basketball player with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA G-League. He rose to fame with his exceptional performance with the New York Knicks and turned the team around during the 2011-12 season, thus creating a viral phrase called ‘Linsanity.’ Lin was the first American of Taiwanese/Chinese descent to play in the NBA. He also won a championship with the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 season. Lin is also known to be a devout Christian.

Lin spent his childhood in the San Francisco Bay Area and was acknowledged as Basketball Player of the Year as a high school senior. He attended Harvard University, where he was a three-time all-conference player in the Ivy League, but went undrafted. In 2010, Lin signed with his home team Golden State Warriors. In 2011, he was waived by the Warriors and the Houston Rockets before he joined the New York Knicks early in the 2011 season. He played sparingly for them, but in 2012 he was promoted to the starting lineup and led the team to a seven-game winning streak. His exceptional performance took the Knicks to the 2012 playoffs.

Lin was named one of the most influential people in the world by the ‘Time’ magazine and in July 2012, he also won the ESPY Award for Breakthrough Athlete of the Year.

After his Knicks tenure, Lin played for many teams, including the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks, and Toronto Raptors. In 2019, he left the NBA and signed with the Beijing Ducks, where he became an All-Star in the Chinese Basketball Association.
