Born on November 12, 1988, Russell Westbrook plays for the Los Angeles Clippers. He played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins. In the 2008 NBA draft, he was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics as the fourth overall pick, who relocated to Oklahoma City later that week and rebranded as Oklahoma City Thunder. During the 2016-17 season, he won the NBA’s Most Valuable Player Award.

In 2019, he was traded to the Houston Rockets, with whom he only played one season before being traded again to Washington in 2020. After becoming the all-time triple-double leader in the history of the NBA with the Wizards, he was traded to the LA Lakers in 2021. He is a nine-time NBA All-Star and also a nine-time All-NBA Team member. Westbrook has also played for the United States national team twice - at the 2010 FIBA World Championship and the 2012 Olympics, winning gold medals both times.

On April 22, 2023, Westbrook scored 37 points in Game 4 of the Clippers' first-round playoff series against the Phoenix Suns, which resulted in a 112-100 loss for the Clippers. With consecutive postseason games of at least 30 points, he moved up to sixth place in franchise history. The Clippers were defeated by the Suns in the first round of the playoffs in five games despite Westbrook averaging 23.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game.
