Michael Lamar Porter Jr. is an American basketball player born on June 29, 1998. The Denver Nuggets drafted him as the 14th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft, which was the start of his professional NBA career.

Michael Porter enrolled at the Father Regional Catholic High School in Columbia, Missouri. He played basketball with the school’s basketball team and led the team to the 2A State Championship. Later, in his senior year, Michael was transferred to the Nathan Hale High School in Seattle, Washington.

In March 2017, Michael was selected to play in the McDonald’s All-American Game and was rewarded as the Most Valuable Player. In the same year, he earned a spot in the 2017 Nike Hoop Summit, where he led team USA to a 98-87 win over the World Select Team with 19 points in a gameplay of 23 minutes.

On March 24, 2017, Michael joined the University of Missouri and continued his basketball journey. He participated in the 2018 NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament but unfortunately lost to Florida State. On March 27, Michael left his college and declared for the 2018 NBA draft.
