Jayson Christopher Tatum Sr. is an American professional basketball player who plays forward for the Boston Celtics as of February 2025. Tatum was drafted as the third overall pick in the first round by the Boston Celtics in the 2017 NBA Draft. Throughout his career, Tatum has been named a six-time NBA All-Star and has been named to the All-NBA team five times, as of February 2025. He won the "Larry Bird Trophy" for Eastern Conference Finals MVP in the 2022 playoffs but missed out on winning the NBA Finals as the Celtics lost 2-4 to the Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA Finals. In the 2023-24 season, Jayson Tatum led his team to the 18th NBA Championship by beating the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA finals.
Before joining the NBA, Tatum went to Duke University. Initially missing around eight games due to a foot injury, Tatum makes a great comeback while earning ACC Freshman of the Week.
