Born on February 19, 1995, in Sombor, Serbia, Nikola Jokic is a Serbian professional basketball player who plays as a Center for the Denver Nuggets as of February 2025. Jokic began his professional career with the Serbian team Mega Basket in 2012 and played there for two seasons before declaring for the NBA draft. Nikola Jokic, also called 'Joker', was selected with the 41st overall pick, by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft.

Joker has also been named a seven-time NBA All-Star from 2019 to 2025 and the NBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for 2021, 2022, and 2024. Jokic is the only MVP in NBA history who was selected in the second round of the common era. He is also the only NBA player to win both Finals MVP and regular season MVP who was drafted outside the top 15 picks in the draft. Jokic has made it to the All-NBA First Team four times (2019, 2021, 2022, 2024) and the All-NBA Second Team twice (2020, 2023). Jokic also represents the Serbian national basketball team, winning a silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games and a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games.
