Jordan grew up in the state of Texas and attended Episcopal High School, where as a sophomore he averaged 15.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks. He then shifted to Christian Life Center Academy and averaged 26.1 points, 15.2 rebounds, and 8.1 blocks in his senior season. Jordan also played one season for Texas A&M and appeared in 35 games for them, averaging 7.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

DeAndre Jordan was drafted as the 35th overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers in the second round of the 2008 NBA draft. He stayed with the LA Clippers for 10 seasons and appeared in 750 games. He scored 7,078 points, grabbed 7,988 rebounds and created 557 successful chances for the Clippers. In the 2018-29 season, he joined the Dallas Mavericks, and as of May 2025, he is playing for the Denver Nuggets.
