Mikal Bridges is an American professional small forward for the New York Knicks. He used to play for the Phoenix Suns and Brooklyn Nets in the NBA. As of May 2025, he plays for the New York Knicks. Bridges was born on August 30, 1996, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Before going pro, he played for the Villanova Wildcats at the college level.

In the NBA, Mikal Bridges made his debut for the Phoenix Suns on October 17, 2018. He gained immediate recognition for his defense skills, leading him to be named the Big East Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2017. He was also named the Big East Tournament MVP in 2018. He has played 556 games in the league, averaging 14.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.2 steals.

Mikal Bridges' mother is Tyneeha Rivers. Rivers got her degree in Business Administration and Management from Cabrini College, Radnor Township, Pennsylvania. Professionally, she started as a senior administrator at Vanguard, Malvern, Pennsylvania (1999-2007). From January 2007 to January 2009, she joined Merrill Lynch as the AVP Project Manager. She continued to work in various human resource development roles in the Greater Philadelphia Area, followed by joining the Philadelphia 76ers from 2015-2017 as the HR Vice President and Director. Between 2017- 2024, she continued to take on the People officer role at varied companies, including Curaleaf, Curio Wellness, and Greater Philadelphia YMCA.
