Brad Marchand is a Canadian ice hockey professional who is currently serving as the captain for the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League. The Bruins selected him in the 7th round, 71st overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry draft.

Starting his hockey career in the QMJHL with Moncton Wildcats, he showcased his power with his impressive 29 goals and was named the rookie of the year. He further developed his skills under the guidance of Ted Nolan in 2005, contributing 66 points in 68 games. He contributed to Moncton's Presidential Cup victory. They also reached the Memorial Cup finals but could not claim victory. In 2006, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins to kick start NHL journey. Marchand spent the 2008-2009 season with the Bruins AHL affiliate team Providence Bruins before his debut in the NHL. He finally debuted in the NHL in October 2009 and played a significant role as a Bruins member on the starting roster in 2010 and contributed to the 2011 Stanley Cup championship.
