Moises Henriques is the Player of the Match: I think I said it before that we have had lots of nerve wracking games. We have had many balls flying off thickish edges. I felt they got 10-15 runs more than what they deserved but it was a great pitch. Today I was thinking about watching the ball and target the short boundary. The ball was sliding on pretty well. They bowled the tough overs, late in the powerplay. As I said, the boys bowled a lot better than what their figures suggest.

Led by a high-quality unbeaten knock from their skipper Moises Henriques, Sydney Sixers have won their season opener against Melbourne Renegades and are off the mark in their first game itself.
Chasing a par 170 on a good SCG track, Sixers lost Josh Phillipe early as the opener nicked off in the second over with the team score at 19. That did not deter his partner James Vince and number 3 Jack Edwards from keeping the temp going as they stitched up a 62-run stand for the second wicket.
Both the batters were taking the game away from the Renegades and that is when Kane Richardson broke the partnership dismissing Edwards. Two more fell as Sixers went from 81/1 to 104/4 and then 126/5 with Renegades' skipper Sutherland leading the charge with a couple of wickets.
The match was placed in a precarious position when Moises Henriques decided to take matter in his own hands and he showed all his experience and range as he thrashed the bowlers and paced his innings beautifully. The power surge, taken in the 17th over, turned out to be the game changer and those two overs yielded 26 runs for the Sixers which got them really close to the finish line.
In the end, Ben Dwarishus sealed the deal with a couple of hits and got the two points for the Sixers.
18.3 Will Sutherland to Ben Dwarshuis, FOUR! That's game set and match as the Sydney Sixers win by 5 wickets. On a length a shade outside off, Dwarshuis holds his shape and slaps it down the ground, finds the straight boundary.
18.2 Will Sutherland to Ben Dwarshuis, on a good-length angling across Dwarshuis, a shade outside off, he goes flashing at that without making contact.
18.1 Will Sutherland to Ben Dwarshuis, SIX! This time Dwarshuis gets it from the middle of the bat. That was in the slot around middle and leg, Dwarshuis clears his front leg and swipes it across the line for a massive 108 metre six.

16 off the over and the game is almost over. 8 needed off the final 2 overs and you can place your bets on the Sixers now, surely there are no more twists
