Brock Bowers was picked by Las Vegas Raiders with 13th overall pick in 2024 NFL Draft. Brock Bowers played his college football for the Georgia Bulldogs from 2021-2023. The two-time national champion performed spectacularly while playing for the Bulldogs and also won the John Mackey award in back-to-back years (2022 and 2023). His dominance on the field was why Bowers was a lock to get drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft.
As a true freshman in 2021, playing for the Bulldogs, Bowers put up a sizzling 882 receiving yards, 56 receptions, 13 receiving touchdowns, 56 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown. In his sophomore season with the Bulldogs in 2022, he had 942 receiving yards, 7 receiving touchdowns, and 3 rushing touchdowns. For his final season with the Bulldogs, Bowers recorded 714 receiving yards, 6 receiving touchdowns, and one rushing touchdown.
When we talk about his individual achievements, Bowers has a long list and some of them are 2× CFP national champion in 2021 and 2022, 2× John Mackey Award 2022 and 2023, Unanimous All-American in 2023, First-team All-American in 2022, Second-team All-American in 2021, SEC Freshman of the Year in 2021, and was also named to the first-team All-SEC three times from 2021–2023.
Bowers was born in Napa, California, United States and attended Napa High School. He was a dual sport athlete who played both football and basketball. When he started playing football as a freshman in high school, Bowers played as the quarterback. It was only in his sophomore season, where he would start playing as a tight end.
An interesting fact about Bowers is, when the lockdown hit due to COVID-19 in 2020, Bowers did not get to practice due to the restrictions that were set. However, he reportedly ran up and down the hills of Napa to stay in shape. Coming out of high school, Bowers was a four-star recruit who committed to play for Georgia.
