Yes, they seemingly got their franchise QB in Drake Maye (jury's still out) and did some good work in the draft (Ja'Lynn Polk could be an under-the-radar pick despite being a second-round selection) but the Patriots are a franchise geared towards the future rather than immediate contention.
Rookie head coach Jerod Mayo has the trust of the entire organization and will likely be treated with patience as rookie QB Drake Maye goes through growing pains to get accustomed to the National Football League. But progress needs to be made this year.
