Russell Wilson is an American football quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers as of the 2024 NFL season. The Seattle Seahawks selected him with the 75th overall pick in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He has won a Super Bowl in 2013 and is a nine-time Pro Bowler (2013-2015, 2017-2021). He was traded to the Denver Broncos in 2022 after spending 10 years in Seattle. However, Wilson's time with the Denver Broncos came to a premature end as the franchise decided to move on from him within just two years. He signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers on March 15, 2024. The Cincinnati native grew up in Richmond, Virginia where he attended Collegiate School. After committing to North Carolina State University, he spent four years with the Wolfpack before playing one year with the Wisconsin Badgers in 2011.

According to Spotrac, Russell Wilson has signed a new one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2024-25 season as he was let go by the Denver Broncos after the 2023 season came to an end. In what is a team-friendly deal, the majority chunk of Wilson's salary will be paid by the Broncos which is around $38 million while the Steelers will be paying a base salary of $1.21 million.

Wilson's new one-year deal comes with a cap hit of $985,000 for the Steelers.
