Elias Pettersson, born on November 12, 1998, is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward and serves as the alternate captain for the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Canucks selected Pettersson as the fifth overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Although he was born in Sundsvall, Sweden, he spent his upbringing in Ånge. Pettersson achieved significant recognition after an outstanding U20 season in the SHL (Swedish Hockey League) during 2017–18. Following this remarkable period and winning the Le Mat Trophy with the Växjö Lakers, he secured a spot on the Canucks' opening night roster for the 2018–19 season.

In 2019, Pettersson earned the prestigious Calder Memorial Trophy, awarded to the league's best rookie, making him the second player in Canucks history to achieve this honor after Pavel Bure in 1992. Pettersson won a silver medal in the 2018 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships despite a broken thumb. He later secured a gold medal at the 2018 IIHF World Championship with Team Sweden. In 2019, he returned for a second consecutive tournament with Sweden at the World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia.

He has a dedicated space for his jersey collection. There is also a trophy case within the residence displaying all the medals he has won from different competitions.
