Matt Duchene is an ice hockey center playing for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL), as of April 2025. He is a native of Lindsay, Ontario, and played with the local Haliburton Huskies before advancing to the Central Ontario Wolves of the Eastern AAA League in the Ontario Minor Hockey Association.

However, his journey took a significant turn in 2007, when he was selected by the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection draft. Duchene contributed 30 goals in his rookie season and in his second season, helped the team to the J. Ross Robertson Cup Finals.
