
Tyler Seguin is a Canadian ice hockey center and alternate captain for the Dallas Stars. He was born in Brampton and raised in Whitby, Ontario. He started playing hockey around age five or six in a house league. He played junior hockey with the Plymouth Whalers in the OHL. In 2009–10, he won the Red Tilson Trophy as OHL MVP and tied for the Eddie Powers Trophy. He was named CHL Top Draft Prospect and made the CHL First All-Star Team.
Seguin was drafted 2nd overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2010 NHL Draft. He won the Stanley Cup with the Bruins in his rookie season. He had 3 goals and 4 assists in 13 playoff games that year. In 2013, he was traded to the Dallas Stars in a 7-player deal. Reports linked the trade to concerns about his office lifestyle. He has been selected for six NHL All-Star Games with the Stars.
