Born on June 3, 1986, in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, Al-Horford is a professional basketball player who plays as a Center for the Boston Celtics in the NBA. He went to the University of Florida where he played college basketball and was selected as the 3rd overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. He has also played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Boston Celtics.

Al Horford is a versatile big man who can play both at the position of center and power forward and is well known for his defensive skills, scoring ability from inside and outside, and for his passing skills. He has been named NBA All-Star five times, in 2010, 2011, 2015, 2016, and 2018, and was also named to the NBA All-Defensive second team in 2018.

Al-Horford's Current Contract

In December 2022, it was announced by the Boston Celtics that they had reached an agreement with Horford for a contract extension worth $20 million over two years. Horford was drafted 3rd overall in the 2007 NBA draft and his experience as a veteran has been proven invaluable for the Celtics.
