Fredderick Edmund VanVleet Sr. is a professional American basketball guard for the Houston Rockets in the NBA as of April 2025. Born on February 25, 1994, in Rockford, Illinois, VanVleet attended Auburn High School in his hometown, where he began his basketball journey. He led Auburn to its first-ever final-four appearance since 1975 in his senior year. Following his graduation from Auburn, VanVleet decided to join Wichita State University, where he played for four years from 2012-16 and represented them in a total of 141 games. During his time there, VanVleet averaged 10.2 points, along with 3.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists, while shooting 42.6% from the field and 38.6% from the three-point range.
