Devdutt Padikkal, who made his international debut in a T20 match against Sri Lanka in July 2021, played his only Test match recently. The youngster scored a half-century (65) as India handed over an innings defeat to England in Dharamsala in March 2024. The 23-year-old southpaw was also impressive in the Ranji Trophy 2024, scoring 556 runs in just four games, including three tons.

Padikkal came into the limelight during his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut season in 2020, as he scored 473 runs in 15 matches for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and continued his form in the next season, where he scored his first IPL century. RCB released the Kerala-born ahead of the 2022 Mega Auction, with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) signing him for INR 7.75 crores. However, his performance for the Jaipur-based franchise was far from impressive across two seasons. As a result, he was traded to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in 2024.

Devdutt Padikkal was born on July 7, 2000, to Ambini Padikkal and Babunu Kunnath in Edappal, Kerala. He completed his education at St Joseph High School, St. Joseph University, and St. Joseph College of Commerce.
