His international breakthrough came at the 2014 Under-19 World Cup, where his remarkable 6 for 25 against Australia in the semi-final helped South Africa clinch their first title. By the end of that year, he had secured a franchise contract with the Lions and made his T20I debut against Australia. In 2015, Rabada set a South African record for the best first-class bowling figures with 14 for 105, cementing his place in cricketing history. His ODI debut was equally memorable, claiming a hat-trick and finishing with record-breaking figures of 6 for 16.
