Mitchell Marsh is a professional cricketer who plays as an all-rounder for the Australian men’s cricket team across all formats of international cricket. Born on October 20, 1991, in Attadale, Perth, Marsh bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium pace. As of December 2024, Marsh is the captain of the Australian T20I team.

He is the son of former Australian cricketer Geoffrey Marsh and the younger brother of former Australian opener Shaun Marsh. According to the official website of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Marsh will play for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2025.

According to InsideSport, the now-defunct Deccan Chargers signed Mitchell Marsh for INR 2.31 million in the IPL 2010 auction. In IPL 2011, the now-defunct Pune Warriors India paid INR 13.34M to Marsh. After featuring for the franchise for two more years, Marsh was sold to the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant for INR 48M in the IPL 2016 auction, as per the IPL’s official website.

He was retained for the same price in the next season and was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 20M in the IPL 2020 mini-auction. After being retained for the same price in IPL 2021, the Delhi Capitals acquired his services for INR 65M in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He spent two more seasons with the Capitals for the same price before the Lucknow Super Giants secured him for INR 34M in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Mitchell Marsh contract 2024

As of December 2024, Mitchell Marsh has signed contracts with Cricket Australia to represent the Australian men’s cricket team, the Perth Scorchers to represent them in the BBL, and the Lucknow Super Giants for IPL 2025.

Mitchell Marsh Australian team contract

According to Cricket Australia’s official website, Mitchell Marsh’s contract was upgraded along with Josh Hazlewood in 2015-16. He was retained by CA for 2016-17 along with his brother Shaun Marsh. Though his brother Shaun was omitted from the 2017-18 list, Mitchell Marsh was retained by Cricket Australia. After being retained in the 2018-19 list, Marsh found no place in the 2019-20 list released by the cricketing board.

He earned an upgraded contract in the 2020-21 list but missed out once again in 2021-22. Despite the disappointment, Marsh was offered a full-time contract in 2022-23, according to ICC’s official website. The following year, Cricket Australia retained him on the annual contract list. In the ongoing contract cycle for 2024-25, Marsh continues to feature on the list as released by Cricket Australia’s official website.

Mitchell Marsh IPL contract

Even before making his international debut, Mitchell Marsh received his maiden IPL contract from the now-defunct Deccan Chargers in IPL 2010. Following that, the now-defunct Pune Warriors India signed him for IPL 2011 for three seasons. In the 2016 IPL auction, Marsh was acquired by the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant and was retained by the same team for IPL 2017. Ahead of IPL 2020, Marsh was signed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who retained him for the following season. In the IPL 2022 mega auction, he was signed by the Delhi Capitals and was retained for two more seasons. In the recently concluded IPL 2024 mega auction, the Lucknow Super Giants have secured his services.
