Penei Sewell is an American Samoan football offensive tackle for the Detroit Lions as of the 2024 NFL season. The Lions selected him with the seventh overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft. Sewell went to Desert High School. His collegiate career at Oregon won him the Outland and Morris trophies. In 2018, Sewell made his Ducks debut as a freshman, starting seven games but sitting out six because of an ankle issue.
