The Pittsburgh Steelers have won zero playoff games in the last seven years. That’s not the standard of Black and Gold. After the retirement of Big Ben, the Steelers drafted Kenny Pickett in 2022 as the heir apparent. However, the experiment failed and the Steelers sent him packing to Philadelphia in the 2024 offseason. Mike Tomlin needed a big-time quarterback to compete in the AFC where there are a plethora of elite QBs.

The Steelers made a big splash in the offseason when they traded for former 1st round pick Justin Fields and signed Russell Wilson for one year. Steelers GM Omar Khan instantly improved the quarterback room in a single offseason. Pittsburgh also fired their offensive coordinator, who had been with them since 2021. They hired Arthur Smith, former head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, as their next offensive coordinator.

Steeler Nation was left disappointed when the Pittsburgh Steelers schedule was released in mid-May, as it is the third-hardest schedule in the league. The 2024 Steelers have sky-high expectations, and anything short of a playoff win would be considered a disappointment.

Pittsburgh Steelers Key Games 2024-25

The Pittsburgh Steelers schedule revealed that they would be facing two of the strongest divisions in the NFL. The six-time SB champions will go up against AFC West and NFC East in the upcoming 2024-25 season. Steelers already play in the toughest division of football, so all divisional games of theirs would be important. We will go through some other exciting matchups.

Week 6 - October 13, 2024 - Pittsburgh Steelers @ Las Vegas Raiders

Raiders and Steelers both have playoff ambitions for the upcoming season. The conference win here would certainly help in the standings if it comes to the tiebreakers at the end for either of this team. Both teams have a top 10 defensive unit. It will all come down to which offense performs better on the given day.

Week 8 - October 28, 2024 - Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Giants

The New York Giants have added some talent through free agency and the draft. However, they still lack roster talent compared to Mike Tomlin’s squad. These are the games the Steelers can’t afford to lose if they have playoff hopes.

Week 10 - November 10, 2024 - Pittsburgh Steelers @ Washington Commanders

This is the second consecutive NFC East matchup on the Pittsburgh Steelers schedule. The Commanders would play the team in Steelers, which would be well rested coming from a BYE week. Additionally, they would be facing Mike Tomlin with a rookie QB in Jayden Daniels, which is a disaster waiting to happen.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have called Acrisure Stadium their home since 2001. It was previously known as Heinz Field. They have played in some of the most iconic stadiums, like Three Rivers Stadium, Pitt Stadium, and Forbes Field, in the past.

Most of the games on the Pittsburgh Steelers schedule will be covered by CBS while a few remaining ones will be aired on FOX. The New Pittsburgh Steelers schedule has four primetime games on it. Those games will be broadcast on ESPN, ABC, Prime Video, NBC and Peacock. The Steelers will also play Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas which will be aired specifically on Netflix.
