Luke Kennard is an American Professional basketball player for the NBA team Memphis Grizzlies. He is from Franklin, Ohio, United States of America. Kennard plays the position of a shooting guard but has the ability to play the role of a small forward. Kennard committed to playing collegiate basketball at Duke Universitywhere he played for just two years from 2015 to 2017. During this time period, he averaged 15.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists after playing 73 games. His college career too, was decked with multiple accolades and nominations, such as being a consensus second-team All-American, being one of the finalists for the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year award and being named the MVP of the ACC tournament in his sophomore season with Duke University.

After his sophomore year at Duke University, Kennard declared for the NBA draft in 2017, forgoing two years of college eligibility. He was selected as the 12th overall pick in the first round of the 2017 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons. Kennard was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2020. He positively contributed to the team for three years before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2023. He has had some noteworthy performances with the Grizzlies, one of which is Kenard’s 30-point game in a win against the Houston Rockets. He has also set the Grizzlies franchise record for the most number of 3-pointers made in a game with 10 made 3-pointers.
