C.J. Stroud is an American football quarterback for the Houston Texans football franchise as of the 2024 NFL season. The Texans selected Stroud with the 2nd overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. His 4,108 passing yards from 15 games, and 23 passing touchdowns as opposed to just 5 interceptions in his rookie were all massive numbers for a second-year signal caller. In 2023, he was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, earned a Pro Bowl selection, and was included in the PFWA All-Rookie Team.

Stroud was born in Rancho Cucamonga, California, on October 3, 2001, and attended Rancho Cucamonga High School, where he finished his high school career as the third-highest-ranked quarterback in his class. For further education and to continue his football career, Stroud went to Ohio State, where he played on the Buckeyes' football team from 2020 to 2022. He earned numerous awards at the collegiate level, including Second-team All-American honors in 2022 and Third-team All-American honors in 2021. He was also named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and the Big Ten Quarterback of the Year twice, in 2021 and 2022.
