Matthews hasn't missed a beat since then, winning all major honors in the NHL.

Matthews began the 2023-24 season by scoring his 300th NHL goal as part of a hat trick against the Montreal Canadiens. Matthews currently leads the league in goals and will be looking forward to leading the Maple Leafs to Stanley Cup glory.

He continued his impressive streak, scoring at least 40 goals for four consecutive seasons. After signing a four-year, $53 million contract in 2023, Matthews scored his 300th NHL goal during the 2023-24 season opener. His legacy extended with a historic overtime goal on January 3, 2024, making him the 10th player in NHL history with at least eight straight 30-goal seasons from the start of his career. Matthews will be looking forward to adding the elusive Stanley Cup to his trophy cabinet.
