Vladimir Andreyevich Tarasenko is a Russian ice hockey right winger playing with the Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League. Born on December 19, 1991, he showed his talent in the Kontinental Hockey League with the Sibir Novosibirsk organization during the 2008-2009 season. He played three seasons with the Sibir Novosibirsk and then was traded to the SKA Saint Petersburg in 2012. Tarasenko was selected by the St. Louis Blues as the 16th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He debuted with the Blues in the 2012-2013 season and played 11 seasons with them. The Russian left winger showcased his talent and became the top scorer in the league. He played in three NHL All-Star Games while with them. The highlight of his career with the Blues was winning the prestigious Stanley Cup in 2019.

After playing 11 seasons with the Blues, he was traded to the New York Rangers on February 9, 2023. In his first game with the Rangers which happened the next day, Taransenko immediately showcased his skills in the new league. He scored his first goal with the Rangers in the very first game against the Seattle Kraken. This goal made him the fourth fastest player to score a goal after his debut.

Tarasenko became a free agent and parted ways with the Rangers and on July 27, 2023, he joined the Ottawa Senators with a one-year contract worth $5 million. This was a significant shift in his career. Tarasenko is currently playing with the Senators and his best moments are yet to come.
