Junaid Khan Biography
Junaid Khan is a Pakistani international cricketer who majorly plays for the teams like Pakistan, Lancashire, Khulna Titans, Nelson Mandela Bay Stars Middlesex, Pakistan A, Peshawar Zalmi, Pakistan Cricket Board Patron's XI.
He is a Left-arm fast-medium bowler and a Right Handed Batsman. Hailing from North-West Frontier Province, he became the part of the Pakistan team as a replacement to the players like Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Amir, and Mohammad Asif.
Born on December 24, 1989, he made his place in the team also because of the apparent retirement of Shoaib Akhtar in the year of 2011.
Background
Hailing from the district of Swabi in North-West Frontier Province, he became the first person to qualify for the Pakistan Cricket Team from the province.
He made his first-class debut at a very early age of 17.
He made his first-class debut against Multan and played for Abbottabad.
In his first-class debut match, he took four wickets for 57 runs.
Debut
Junaid became the part of the Pakistan team in 2011 World Cup but did not have the chance to be the part of the playing eleven.
He made his international T20 debut against Windies at Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium on Apr 21, 2011, however, went wicketless in the debut match.
He made his ODI debut two days later against Windies. He came out to be the fourth highest wicket-taker in his team in the ODI series.
Rise to Glory
In 2011, in the same year of debut, Pakistan toured to Ireland where in the very first match Junaid was awarded the Man of the Match award taking 4 wickets for 12 runs and finished the series as a second highest wicket-taker.
He came into the limelight in the series against India in 2012 where he showcased his talent by picking four wickets in the first match which dismantled the top order of the Indian side.
In the first ODI he clean bowled Sehwag, Kohli, Yuvraj and in the second ODI, he took crucial wickets.
He won Man of the Match against Sri Lanka in a test series in 2012.
