Career

Domestic Career

Sandeep made his debut against Jharkhand in 2010 at Ranchi and scored a century on debut. A year later he made his List-A debut against Andhra in Palakkad. He was the leading run-scorer for Hyderabad in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy, with 400 runs in four matches. He even has a first-class double hundred to his name and boasts of a might average of 44.82 in 58 matches.

However, in August this year, Sandeep decided to leave the Hyderabad state side to play for other state. The reason being cited is that he was overlooked for the position of Captain and that his place in team was regularly in question due to selector’s apathy towards him.

IPL Career

Sandeep after waiting long for an IPL contract was finally bought for a base price of 20 lakh by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sandeep is expected to rub shoulders with the best in the business like Kane Williamson, David Warner and it will surely be a huge learning curve for him.

Background

Sandeep’s father Parmeshwar has worked equally hard for his son’s career. He gave up eight years of service at Bharat Dynamics Limited, where he was employed as a technician, to take voluntary retirement (at 52) and concentrate on his kid’s cricket. Cricket also got him a satisfying job, as an Inspector in the Income Tax department.
