Alexander Mikhailovich Ovechkin is a Russian ice hockey left winger serving as captain for the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on September 17, 1985, Ovechkin is considered one of the greatest goal-scorers of all time. In 2004, he was drafted by the Washington Capitals and has remained with the team throughout his entire NHL career. He has played a total of 18 seasons with them and has been a crucial asset for the Capitals. Ovechkin scored 52 goals and 54 assists in his rookie season which earned him the prestigious Calder Memorial Trophy as the Rookie of the Year.

He also won the Art Ross Trophy for the most points scored and also has been a three-time Lindsay Award winner. Ovechkin has also been named to the NHL All-Star Game a record breaking thirteen times. Moreover, he was featured in the All-Star Game for a record breaking six consecutive times between 2015 and 2020, 13 appearances in total. One of his greatest achievements with the Capitals was the Stanley Cup in 2018 where he led the team to claim this prestigious trophy. Ovechkin earned the Conn Smythe Trophy for being the outstanding player in the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs.

Alex Ovechkin purchased a luxury house in McLean, Virginia, 11 years ago for $4.2 million where he currently stays. The house features 5 bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, and a massive 11,000 square feet of space. Ovechkin lives there with his wife and two sons. The house has a luxury staircase with a huge chandelier in the center.
