Eric Craig Staal, born on October 29, 1984, is a Canadian professional ice hockey center who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He has played for various NHL teams, including the Carolina Hurricanes, New York Rangers, Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres, and Montreal Canadiens. Staal is a member of the Triple Gold Club, having won the Stanley Cup with the Hurricanes in 2006, and both the 2007 World Championships and the 2010 Winter Olympics with Team Canada.

Staal started his professional career with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2003 and played with them until 2016. He then had stints with the New York Rangers, Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres, and Montreal Canadiens. Staal joined the Florida Panthers in 2022 and signed a one-year contract with the team in July 2022.
