
Taylor Hall is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger who plays for the Carolina Hurricanes in the NHL. He was born on November 14, 1991, in Calgary, Alberta, and moved to Kingston, Ontario, at age 13. Hall began his junior career with the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL during the 2007–08 season and was named both OHL and CHL Rookie of the Year. He won the Stafford Smythe Memorial Trophy as the MVP of the 2009 Memorial Cup.
Hall was selected first overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2010 NHL Draft and made his debut in the 2010–11 season. In June 2016, he was traded to the New Jersey Devils. In his second season with the Devils, Hall became the first player in franchise history to win the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player. He also led the Devils to the Stanley Cup Final that season.
