Donovan Mitchell Jr. is a Shooting Guard and Point Guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born in 1996 in Elmsford, New York, United States, he has also played for the Utah Jazz in the past.
The Denver Nuggets drafted Donovan Mitchell as the 13th overall pick in the 1st Round of the 2017 NBA Draft and then traded him to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Tyler Lydon (the 24th pick) and Trey Lyles. Despite suffering from an ankle injury earlier in the 2020-2021 season, he would return to the team during the playoffs and score 45 points, thereby helping his team win against the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 1. He kept up with consistent performances in Games 2 and 3, before his team was eliminated from the playoffs. He then joined the Cleveland Cavaliers, and had an impressive 2022-2023 season where he scored 28.3 points, along with 4,3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks. So far, he has played in 4 NBA All-Star games (2020-2023), and his career averages stand at 24.6 points, 4.2 total rebounds, 4.5 assists, FG% of 44.8, FG3% of 36.5 and a FT% of 83.9. He has become one of the best offensive players in the Cavaliers roster.
