Richaun Holmes is an American basketball player who plays for the Washington Wizards in the NBA. Born in Lockport, Illinois, Holmes played high school basketball at Lockport Township in Lockport, Illinois. Later he first played college ball at Moraine Valley Community College for one season in 2011–2012, and then played for Bowling Green State University from 2012 to 2015.
After high school and college Holmes was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 37th overall pick in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft. Since getting drafted, Holmes has played for the 76ers, Suns, Kings, Mavericks, and Wizards. During his best season in the 2020-21 season, Richaun Holmes averaged 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.6 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 63.7% from the field for the Sacramento Kings. In the 2023-24 NBA season, Holmes mostly played as a backup center for the Mavericks, and midway through the season, he was traded to the Washington Wizards.
