Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a Canadian professional basketball player who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA as of March 2025. As a senior in high school, Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 18.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. Gilgeous-Alexander played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats. After six games coming off the bench, he became the regular starting point guard for the team and led them to the NCAA tournament. After just one season in college, he declared for the 2018 NBA draft.

Gilgeous-Alexander was selected by the Charlotte Hornets as the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers on the same night. He had a great rookie season with the Clippers, averaging 10.8 points per game over 82 games. After the 2018-19 season, the Clippers traded Gilgeous-Alexander to the OKC Thunder in exchange for Paul George. As of March 25, 2025, he has played a total of 454 games, scoring 11,042 points, grabbing 2,174 rebounds, and making 2,305 assists in the NBA regular season.
