Born on February 23, 1997, in Kitchener, Ontario, Murray has been the starting point guard for the Denver Nuggets since they selected him with the seventh overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft. Before the NBA, Murray played one season at the University of Kentucky, where he averaged 20 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in the 2015-16 season. During his freshman year, Murray was named Third-team All-American by the Associated Press and also got a spot on First-team All-SEC.
