Talanoa Hufanga is a professional American professional football player who, as of 2024, plays as a safety for the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. The San Francisco 49ers drafted Hufanga with the 180th pick in the fifth round of the NFL draft of 2021. In his first season, Hufanga had 32 tackles while starting three of the 15 games. Hufanga had a career-best in 2022 with two sacks, 95 tackles, two forced fumbles, and four interceptions. As a result, he was nominated for the Pro Bowl and named to the first team All-Pro. Hufanga had an ACL tear in 2023, which prevented him from playing in 10 games but he managed to record 51 tackles and three interceptions.
Hufanga attended the University of Southern California to play college football. Hufanga had 51 tackles in his USC debut season.
