Umran Malik's Family

Umran Malik is an Indian cricket player who bowls right-arm fast in limited-overs cricket. On November 22, 1999, he was born in Jammu & Kashmir's Gujjar Nagar. On January 18, 2021, he played his first 20-over match for Jammu & Kashmir in the 2020–21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In June 2022, he played his debut match for India against Ireland. He is a cricket player for Jammu and Kashmir in domestic cricket and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

Umran Malik was retained by the Hyderabad franchise for Rs 4.00 Cr in the IPL 2024 Auction. With a modest payment of INR 20 lakhs, he first joined SRH in the IPL 2021.

Umran Malik’s father’s name is Abdul Rashid. He is a fruit seller by profession and owns a vegetable and fruit shop in Jammu.

Umran’s father has always been supportive of his son’s aspirations for the game. Talking about his son, Rashid said in an interview to Espncricinfo that he never refused to buy equipment for Malik but he would also advise him to study a bit as well.

In an interview with Indian Express, Umran revealed about his family profession. “That (Selling fruits) is our family business for the past 70 years. My grandfather, father, and uncle have been working on it. It is not that if I am playing for India, my father will stop working. My father always tells me that we will remain where we have risen from. I come from an average family. I feel very happy that I have made my father proud.”
