Game on Thursday, December 5

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions

The Lions will be entering this season to defend their divisional crown and the closest team to give them a run for money are the Green Bay Packers. This is the last time they meet in the regular season so a win here for either team would almost guarantee them a top spot in the division.

The good thing for the Packers is that Love threw for 3 TDs last season at Ford Field which helped them to get a massive dub against the Lions. On the other hand, Jared Goff has an impressive 5-2 record against the Packers in his career which gives the home team a slight advantage. Both teams are coming into the season with the same cast as last year.

Games on Sunday, December 8

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins

Both the Jets and the Dolphins are still a tier below the Buffalo Bills in their division for the 2024 season. If either of them wants to reach the postseason, they can’t finish worse than second in their division as the AFC is filled with talented teams.

The Jets have not reached the playoffs for the last 13 years. Tua Tagovailoa is undefeated against the Jets in his career, however, there is a caveat here. In all the contests against Gang Green, Tagovailoa has a 6:5 Touch Down: Interception ratio which is below average in today’s NFL which has become pass-heavy. The Jets' defense under head coach Robert Salah has been top 10 the past two years and this time Aaron Rodgers would be under center for New York.

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs

The only team in the AFC West that can dethrone the Kansas City Chiefs is the Los Angeles Chargers. The Bolts are also the only team along with the Chiefs to have stability at the QB position in Justin Herbert. The Chargers' 2-5 record with Herbert under center might not give a vote of confidence to many fans but it was largely due to LA’s bottom-ten defense under former head coach Brandon Staley in the last three years.

However, Kansas City has won the division every single year since 2016. Last year, the Chiefs looked as vulnerable as they have ever looked in the Patrick Mahomes era but the Chargers couldn’t take advantage of it due to Herbert’s season-ending injury in the second half of the season. The Chargers are going into a new dawn with Jim Harbaugh at the helm. The Chiefs’ defense, which was a great unit last year, is basically returning with all the core players. Brett Veach and Andy Reid also addressed the lack of talent in the WR room by adding Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy in the offseason.

Cincinnati Bengals at Dallas Cowboys

This MNF game on the NFL week 14 schedule will see two premier QBs - Joe Burrow and Dak Prescott - meet each other for the first time in their career. The last time Joe Burrow faced the Cowboys, Dak Prescott was out with an injury. However, the Bengals still lost to America’s team in that game. On the flip side, Prescott came out victorious against the Burrow-less Bengals back in 2022.

No matter who comes out on top, this Monday Night thriller would provide fans with an exciting experience as both teams would be on top of their game this late in the season.
