About NFL Week 8 Schedule 2024-25

The end of the NFL week 8 schedule will give a clearer picture of where each team stands going into the trade deadline. The NFL GMs would be pretty busy around this time of the year deciding on the future of their respective team.

The teams with Super Bowl aspirations will try to acquire a player who fills the team's needs while forfeiting draft picks in the process. On the flip side, general managers of the rebuilding teams try to get high-value draft picks in exchange for giving up prominent players from the organization. There are quite a few exciting encounters which we will take a look into further down below.

Games on Sunday, October 27

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns

Both the Ravens and the Browns have a team assembled to win the Lombardi trophy. However, the Ravens have a clear advantage at the QB position due to having two-time MVP Lamar Jackson under center. In contrast, the Browns have the best defense in the league when it comes to yards given per game.

The Ravens' defense, which was one of the top units in the league in 2023, would definitely falter a bit due to the departure of their former DC Mike Mcdonald, who took the head coaching gig at Seattle. Lamar has a 7-4 record against the Browns in his career while Watson has won both contests against Baltimore since coming to Cleveland.

Chicago Bears at Washington Commanders

This NFL week 8 schedule has the top two quarterbacks taken with first two picks in the 2024 NFL Draft going up against each other. This game might not hold too much weight when it comes to the conference standings but it sure would give bragging rights to the fanbase whose signal caller would come out victorious.

Both teams have surrounded their rookie QBs with solid weapons. The Bears added Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze and D’Andre Swift to make life easier for Caleb Williams. On the other hand, the Commanders have Austin Ekeler, Terry McLaurin, Luke McCaffrey and Jahan Dotson to make Jayden Daniels transition into the NFL smoothly.

Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals

Going into the 2024 season, anything less than a Lombardi trophy would be considered a failure for either of these teams. Joe Burrow and Jalen Hurts are already on their second contracts and neither conference is getting easier anytime soon. The Eagles' offense would want to bounce back from a disaster second half last year under new OC Kellen Moore. On the contrary, the Bengals would try to lessen the blow on their offense due to the departure of their longtime OC Brian Callahan.

Both the Eagles and Bengals have lost a significant piece in the offseason in Jason Kelce (retirement) and Tyler Boyd (signed with Titans) respectively. To face a Super Bowl contender right before the trade deadline would provide both teams with an exact picture of where their respective team needs to improve.

Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers

The NFL schedule week 8 has two NFC powerhouses going up against each other, which always makes for an intense contest. Dallas and San Francisco have yet to miss the playoffs in the past three seasons. The winner of this game will most probably have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The home team has a clear advantage in this matchup due to Brock Purdy being 2-0 against the Cowboys in his short yet outstanding career. Even though neither of these teams has made any significant changes in the offseason, the intrigue surrounding this matchup doesn’t get any less due to a historic rivalry between the two franchises.
