About NFL Week 6 Schedule 2024-25

A huge week 6 clash involves the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys

As we approach week 6 of the 2024-25 NFL season, we reach the one-third phase of the regular season. By now, all teams would have a solid idea of what is working and what needs to be fixed quickly lest they should miss out on the postseason.

The NFL week 6 schedule will once again see 28 teams in action while 4 teams will have a bye week for the second week running.

Game on Thursday, October 10

San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks

The NFL schedule week 6 gives us the first game of the week between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks. This is an important NFC West matchup and while the 49ers should be the favorites to win it judging on their recent success and quality in the team, the Seahawks won’t be a pushover. One big blow for the Seahawks has been the loss of linebacker Bobby Wagner who left in free agency.

Games on Sunday, October 13

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints

One of the more important games on Sunday from the context of divisional games is this week 6 game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints. There is a good argument to make that both these teams can win the division this year as the AFC South looks more compact with the Atlanta Falcons also in the mix.

The winner of this game will carry a potentially big advantage into the remainder of the season, especially if tiebreakers come into play for the playoff spots.

Cleveland Browns @ Philadelphia Eagles

The Cleveland Browns will visit the Philadelphia Eagles as per the NFL week 6 schedule. Both teams have quality players, with the Browns also boasting of the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year in Myles Garrett leading the defense. With Deshaun Watson expecting to be under center again, the Browns may have a better offense once again but it remains to be seen how well he performs after missing a lot of action in the recent few seasons.

On the flip side, the Eagles have undergone quite a few changes in the offseason as they have new coordinators for offense and defense. While they have added the talented Saquon Barkley in the backfield, the loss of legendary center Jason Kelce could be hard to overcome.

Detroit Lions @ Dallas Cowboys

What could be the game of the week will be the Detroit Lions going up against America’s team, the Dallas Cowboys. These are two well-coached sides with quality players on both sides of the ball. If last season’s results are to be taken into account, both the Lions and the Cowboys made it to the postseason. In spite of the fact the Lions fell short in the NFC Championship game, the team is on the right path to even more success.

As for Dallas, they have been a perennial playoff team and are always in the mix of things but have found very little success in the postseason as of late.

Game on Monday, October 14

Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets

The Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets have had a long-standing rivalry with both teams primarily based in New York. Moreover, they are also AFC East divisional opponents adding to the fiery atmosphere between the two franchises. Having said that, the Bills have had more success recently and have been the better team, but the Buffalo has undergone several changes in key positions in the offseason and the Jets are expected to have a fully healthy Aaron Rodgers back in the mix.

Even though it is early in the season, this game feels as if it has a lot riding on it.

Bye Week Teams

As per the NFL schedule for week 6, the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings will all get an extra week of rest and preparation as these teams have a bye week in week 6 of the 2024-25 NFL season.
