Rajan Kumar made his domestic debut for Uttarakhand against Railways in Rajkot in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2022-23 season on October 11, 2022. On T20 debut, the Uttarakhand pacer impressed with his left-arm medium-fast pace as he returned with figures of 4-1-8-2 at an economy of 2.00 and only conceded a single boundary in his quota. He finished his debut season as Uttarakhand’s leading wicket-taker by scalping 10 wickets in 7 games.
A month later, Kumar made his List-A debut for Uttarakhand against Odisha in Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022-23 season. Like his SMAT debut, he was again impressive on his Vijay Hazare Trophy debut as he finished with figures of 8.2-1-24-3.
Kumar made his first-class (FC) debut for Uttarakhand against Madhya Pradesh (MP) in Dehradun in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season on January 05, 2024. He picked up a couple of wickets in the first innings and the match eventually ended in a draw.
