He married twice, with Sachin Tendulkar’s mother Rajni being his second wife. Ramesh always advised Sachin to strive to be a good person. Ramesh passed away due to a heart attack on May 19, 1999. Sachin Tendulkar was with the Indian team in England then, playing in the 1999 World Cup.

Well-known Marathi stage actor Mayuresh Prem played Nitin Tendulkar’s role in the movie Sachin: A Billion Dreams.

Sachin Tendulkar’s Second Elder Brother

Sachin Tendulkar’s second elder brother, Ajit Tendulkar, played a vital role in Sachin’s success as a cricketer. Ajit is 15 years older than Sachin and he studied at Mumbai’s Ruia College.

Sachin was naughty in his childhood. His brother Ajit took him to cricket coach Ramakant Achrekar, where his cricketing journey began. Initially, Ramakant was not impressed with Sachin’s batting skills, but Ajit’s conviction helped Sachin get another chance, which he did not waste.

They first met at an airport in the year 1990, while Sachin was returning from an international match and Anjali was present to receive her mother. It was love at first sight as Anjali’s lack of cricket knowledge made her pursue her interest in Sachin and later, she went on to learn about him.

Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar is an Indian cricketer. Arjun followed in the footsteps of his father to the cricket field. However, he is not a top-order batter.

Arjun is a left-arm fast bowler who can also hit a few big shots with the willow. He received his maiden domestic cap during the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Mumbai Indians signed him for 20 lakhs at IPL Auction 2021.

Unfortunately, he did not get to play in the season that ensued and was ultimately released ahead of the 2022 mega-auction. MI claimed his services for INR 30 Lakhs in the auction but again, the seam-bowling all-rounder did not get game time in the actual season even as Mumbai continued to lose game after game. However, Arjun debuted for the Mumbai Indians against the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023, marking the occasion with MI team mentor Sachin as the first-ever father-son duo to have played in IPL history.

In a bid to get more chances on the domestic front, Arjun parted ways with the Mumbai State Cricket Association and signed up with Goa ahead of the 2022/23 domestic season.

He made his Ranji Trophy debut against Rajasthan in December 2022 and went on to score his maiden FC ton.
