Digvijay Deshmukh: A Brief Biography

The little Ishaan from the movie Kai Po Che has now become a real-life cricketer and is all set to realise his dream when he plays for Mumbai Indians in the 2020 IPL. Though tragedy struck him earlier this year when he couldn't meet Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput who he had promised of meeting only after he became a cricketer.

Domestic Career

Digvijay Deshmukh made his T20 debut on 12 November 2019, for Maharashtra in the 2019–20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Chattisgarh. He made his first-class debut on 17 December 2019, for Maharashtra in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy against Jammu & Kashmir in Pune. In his only FC game, he took 6 wickets and scored 85 runs.

IPL Career

The right-arm medium-fast bowler will now enter the big glitzy world of T20 cricket and will rub shoulder with some of the biggest stars. He has played one first-class game for Maharashtra and made his T20 debut in 2019 and played seven games, picking nine wickets. He was bought for his base price of INR 20 lakhs in the 2020 IPL auction by Mumbai Indians and will be looking to learn in heaps in his rookie season..

Background

Digvijay Deshmukh played the role of a talented cricketer which was coached by Sushant Singh Rajput's character Ishaan in “Kai Po Che”. The talented Pune pacer had promised Sushant that he would not meet until he becomes a famous cricketer. This year Deshmukh was picked by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL auctions, but then the lockdown happened the fast bowler could not fulfill his wish after Sushant Singh committed suicide.
