Abdul Razzaq Biography
Abdul Razzaq is a former right arm medium fast bowler and right-handed batsman from Pakistan, who fabricated his debut in the year 1996. He was born on 2 December 1979 in Lahore.
He was a part of prolific entrances of impeccable all-rounders that Pakistan generated and was a benevolent performer in his game in all formats. He even took part in the Indian Cricket League, playing for Hyderabad Heroes.
Debut
He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe on 1 November 1996 at the age of 16, and test debut against Australia on 5 November 1999. He took two wickets in his maiden ODI but went wicketless in the test debut.
He made his T20 debut against England on 28 August 2006, where he took 3 wickets and scored 17 runs at a strike rate of 242.
Club Career
In 2007, when he was dropped from Pakistan team due to poor performance and injury. As a sign of protest, he announced his retirement to play for Hyderabad Heroes in the Indian Cricket League and became a 'rebel cricketer'.
Since the Pakistan Cricket Board had banned players who participated in the unofficial league, Razzaq stopped playing in the ICL.
Razzaq was also a member of the Middlesex, Worcestershire, and Surrey teams in the English County Cricket. He also signed Hampshire County Cricket Club and played a starring role in their victory against Somerset in finals of the English domestic Twenty20 competition.
Records
In 2000, he became the youngest cricketer in the world to take a Test hat-trick which came against Sri Lanka. He is the only Pakistani player who has batted at every position from an opener to number 11.
He is among the 53 players who have achieved the double of 1,000 Test runs and 100 Test wickets.
Retirement
In 2016, Razzaq announced his retirement from international cricket after playing his last match in 2013.
