Hrithik Rakesh Shokeen, born on August 14, 2000, is a bowler who represents Delhi at the domestic level and Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Shokeen is a right-arm off-break bowler and a right-handed batter. The off-spinner not only bowls but also bats occasionally and takes stunning catches on the field. The 24-year-old Delhi bowler is a prominent member of the MI dugout and will be looking to make a name for himself soon.

Hrithik Shokeen has been a prominent face in the domestic circuit. The 24-year-old off-spinner is, however, yet to break the shackles for Delhi and would be eyeing to make waves soon.
Hrithik Shokeen Domestic Career
Hrithik Shokeen was initially selected to represent India Under-23 in the Bangladesh Under-23s tour of India in September 2019. He returned with the figures of 10-1-32-2 as he took the wickets of Al-Amin and wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali on his debut. Shokeen finished the series as the joint-highest wicket-taker in the Bangladesh Under-23s tour of India 2019 with 6 wickets.
Shokeen was drafted to the Indian Emerging team in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup 2019 held in Bangladesh. He played 4 games and only took a couple of wickets as the India Emerging Team crashed out in the semi-final after a loss by a whisker of 3 runs to the Pakistan Emerging Team.
The 24-year-old Delhi bowler made history when he became the first-ever ‘impact player’ to be used in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, in Delhi’s Elite Group B match against Manipur on October 11, 2022, in the SMAT 2022-23 season.
Shokeen made his first-class (FC) debut for Delhi against Assam on December 20, 2022, in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season. He scored 29 runs in the first innings and went wicketless with the ball as the match ended in a draw.
Hrithik Shokeen IPL Career
Hrithik Shokeen was acquired by the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 20 lakhs. He made his T20 debut for MI against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 21, 2022, in the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. He was sent in to bat at No.6 and scored a run-a-ball 25 runs, before being dismissed by Dwayne Bravo.
In the second innings, Shokeen went wicketless as MI received a glimpse of the vintage Dhoni, who won the match off the last ball.
After going wicketless in the next encounter against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as well, Shokeen grabbed his maiden IPL wicket against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the form of batter Devdutt Padikkal. Apart from the match against RR, he went wicketless in the other four games and could only pick 3 wickets in the 8 matches that he played in the IPL 2023 season.
After having poor returns with the ball, the off-spinner was released by MI ahead of the IPL 2024 auction and remained unsold in that auction.
