Noor Ali Zadran: A Brief Biography

Noor Ali Zadran is an Afghan cricketer who represents the Afghanistan Men's National Cricket Team in international cricket. Noor Ali Zadran bats right-handed and can bowl right-arm fast-medium. Zadran represents Mis Ainak Region in domestic cricket.

Player Background

Noor Ali Zadran was born on July 10, 1988, in Khost, Afghanistan. Noor Ali considers Ricky Ponting as his cricketing hero and inspiration to play. Zadran's cousin Mujeeb Ur Rahman Zadran also plays for Afghanistan in international cricket.

International Career

In 2004, Noor Ali made his international debut for the Afghanistan U-17 cricket team against the United Arab Emirates Under-17s. His debut for the senior Afghanistan team came after two whole years against Saudi Arabia in 2006 during the Middle East Cup. A year after, Ali made his Twenty20 debut for Afghanistan in 2007 in a match against Oman in ACC Twenty20 Cup. He made his One Day International debut against Scotland, on April 19, 2009.

First Class Career

Following Afghanistan's success in the World Cup Qualifier, they qualified for the 2009–10 ICC Intercontinental Cup where they were to regularly play first-class cricket against Associate countries.

Ali's made his first-class debut in a match against Zimbabwe XI. He scored 130 runs from 200 deliveries against an experienced Zimbabwe team to rise to the limelight.

In April 2019, Noor Ali Zadran was named in Afghanistan's squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
