Ricky Bhui Biography


Ricky Bhui is an Indian Under-19 cricketer. He was born on 29 September 1996 in Bhopal, India. He is a right-handed top-order batsman and can deliver a bit of leg spin bowling when required.


Background


In 2013, Ricky Bhui started his career with seven 30 plus scores, including three half-centuries, in his first nine innings at the Under-19 level.


His consistent performances at Under-19 level earned him a spot in the Andhra Pradesh squad for the Ranji Trophy season 2013-14.


Domestic Career


Ricky Bhui scored a brilliant unbeaten century on his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He scored a 79 ball 103 not out.


He started his T20 career on a positive note as he made a half-century in his T20 debut.


Bhui has been playing for the Andhra Pradesh cricket team in the Ranji Trophy since he made his debut in the 2013-14 season.


He was selected in the Indian Under-19 squad for the 2016 Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh. His performance was below par as he scored just 47 runs in three innings of the league stages before being dropped for the quarter-final.


Club Career


Ricky Bhui was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2014 IPL auction for INR 10 lakhs. Although he hasn’t got a chance in the playing eleven until now, he has been a part of this franchise for all these years. He was again bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2018 IPL auction.


Stats and Records


Ricky Bhui has scored 1360 runs at an average of 42.50, including four centuries and seven half-centuries in 23 first-class matches. He has also taken three wickets.


His List-A stats are commendable as he has made 619 runs in 19 innings. He averages 61.90 and has 4 fifties and a ton against his name.

In T20s, he has scored 598 runs at an average of 29.90 in 27 matches with five scores in excess of 50.
