Stuart Binny Biography
Stuart Binny is an Indian allrounder, who bats right handed and bowls right-arm medium. He is son of a former Indian Test cricketer Roger Binny and was born on 3 June 1984.
Background
Being the son of a cricketer, the sport runs in Binny’s blood. Initially, Binny trained under his father as his father was the coach at his school.
He also received coaching lessons from coach Imtiaz Ahmed in IACA. He represented Karnataka state team, in the year 2003-04 but he couldn’t make it to the playing eleven.
In the year 2007, Binny was part of Indian Cricket League and became one of the tournament's premier all-rounders. After flourishing in the ICL, he was called by the BCCI.
Debut
Binny became the part of the Indian ODI team for the tour of New Zealand 2014. He played his first ODI in the month of January and got to bowl only one over.
His Test debut was against England in July of the same year, where he scored 78 runs in the second innings after a poor first inning.
Rise to Glory
During India’s tour to Bangladesh in 2014, Binny produced figures of 6 for 4 - the best ODI bowling figures by an Indian bowler - as India won that match by 47 runs. Binny was announced as the Man of the Match for his performance.
Club Career
Presently, Binny plays for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Binny hit 32 not out off 13 balls against the Pune Warriors India which aided the Rajasthan Royals to achieve their target of 179 runs with a ball and five wickets to spare in the 2013 IPL.
Royals acquired a place in the play-offs where Binny made 41 against Chennai Super Kings partnering Shane Watson.
He has also played for Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past. Also, he is an integral part of the Karnataka squad in the domestic circuit, aside from captaining his team in the Karnataka Premier League.
