Abhishek Porel made his domestic debut in first-class cricket in February 2022 when he made his debut for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy against Baroda, almost 9 months later Abhishek Porel made his List A debut in November 2022 Played his first match against Puducherry in Vijay Hazare Trophy. A month ago, Abhishek also started his T20 career by debuting in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in October 2022.
Due to injury to Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant in the 2023 IPL, Abhishek was included as a wicketkeeper-batsman in his place and he played his first IPL match in that season.
In 2024, Delhi once retained Abhishek in their squad for INR 20 lakh, allowing him to play all 14 matches.

Abhishek Porel started his first-class career by making his Ranji Trophy debut against Baroda on 17 February 2022, where he impressed everyone by scoring a brilliant half-century in the second innings. In the 2022 Ranji Trophy, Abhishek Porel scored 303 runs in five matches at an average of 33.66 in which he also scored three half-centuries. The following year, Abhishek scored 377 runs in seven Ranji matches at an average of 41.88, which also included his first first-class century.
After 8 months, in October 2022, Abhishek started his T20 career by debuting against Odisha in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In his first match, Abhishek batted brilliantly and scored 20 runs with the help of two fours and a six in 14 balls, taking his team to the threshold of victory.
In the 2023 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Abhishek scored 239 runs in seven bouts at 39.83, in which he also scored two half-centuries.
On 17 November 2022, just a month after his T20 debut, Abhishek started his List A career by making his debut against Puducherry in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In the 2023 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Abhishek Portal scored 221 runs in eight matches at an average of 27.62, in which only one half-century came from his bat.

After performing brilliantly in domestic cricket, Abhishek was included in the 2023 IPL in place of Injured Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant as the wicketkeeper-batsman where he played his first IPL match against Gujarat Titans on 4 April 2023, he made his intentions clear to everyone by scoring 20 runs in 11 balls in his maiden IPL game. After scoring 33 runs in four games in 2023, despite the presence of Rishabh Pant in the 2024 IPL, Abhishek Porel was retained by Delhi Capitals for Rs 20 lakh.
Abhishek Porel looked in great form in 2024 when he scored 32 runs in 10 balls in the very first match against Punjab Kings.
